How you will make an impact:

The Senior Pricing Analyst will support revenue and operating income goals through price attainment for LSC within Thermo Fisher Scientific. Establish price standards, strategies, and performance. Build organizational capabilities and communicate key pricing insights and recommendations to Business Leadership and other relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use advanced data modeling tools to develop and/or enhance data-driven pricing guidelines/tools for BU and commercial teams, including but not limited to: build system/platform to aggregate competitive intelligence, inform pricing choices (i.e. promo design, tier pricing modeling) for share gain and market penetration, and optimize price/volume trade-off
  • Identify, validate, and quantify new pricing improvement opportunities across the entire product and service portfolio. Maintain a pipeline of near-, mid-, and long-term opportunities. Track and manage the progress toward substantiating the improvement opportunities in the pipeline
  • Provide analysis and technical support for pricing initiatives that include setting list prices, determine customer specific discounts and identify promotion opportunities
  • Determine positioning and strategies to optimize price and value for new products. Work closely with marketing, product management and finance teams to determine optimal launch price
  • Regularly articulate and reinforce pricing strategies throughout the organization
  • Support commercial teams on implement strategies and tactics for price attainment
  • Identify, validate, and execute opportunities for sales performance improvements
  • Support the development and refinement of tools, policies, and procedures that enhance existing performance.
  • Maintain strong communication with business partners and key stakeholders within BU’s and commercial teams
  • Consolidate and facilitate the forecast, budget, list price increase, year end PUP process and other cross-division initiatives or routine pricing processes, and act as the key contact person to global pricing team to coordinate pricing requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or data science field. An advanced degree in business or science is preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of work experience in related field
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including data handling and experience of using SQL, Excel, and/or Python, and other relational database skills.
  • Strong commercial orientation with a balance of pricing and strategic business management capabilities. A passion for understanding pricing strategies and execution methodologies in a distribution business
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and effectively to influence business partners. Must relate well to all kinds of people, listens and builds constructive relationships. Shows creativity and innovation in presenting ideas
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver; detail oriented, organized and analytical. Has the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to drive projects and activities to successful conclusion, operating with a high sense of urgency; Demonstrated ability to operate independently with broad general guidance against a framework of defined business objectives
  • Prior experience working in large corporate environment or a diversified, complex organization is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable operating within a matrix structure.
