Manukau Institute of Technology has an exciting fixed term part time opportunity (through to December 2024) to support the evaluation and operational reporting requirements of the Te Ara Oranga Project. We are seeking a motivated and engaging individual to work with the Te Ara Oranga Project, supporting our Māori and Pasifika health students within the Tertiary Re-engagement for Health Workforce Pathways programme.

We are looking for a talented and motivated Health Workforce Research & Data Analyst Assistant to join our team, assisting in monitoring and measuring deliverables of the Te Ara Oranga (TAO) Pathways to Wellbeing Project. This role will provide admin support and assist in conducting quantitative and qualitative research and analysis to enhance the development of the Tertiary Re-engagement for Health Workforce Pathways programme. The hours are 18.75 hours per week, to be worked on Tuesday and Thursday between 8am to 5pm, where you will be located at our Manukau Campus above the transport hub at Manukau City Centre. Wednesday 9am to 1pm, you will have the flexibility to work from home if preferred.

The successful candidate will monitor and support the transition of ākonga throughout their learning journey, onto graduation and into the health work force.

Key duties this role will be responsible for:

  • Administration and reporting
  • Build research solutions that meet the needs of both our ākonga and stakeholders
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with ākonga and prepare findings for external report requirements
  • Provide accurate and timely research deliverables, including both qualitative and quantitative outcomes
  • Conduct surveys to assess the support received by Māori/Pacific students through the program
  • Assess and analyse data, providing accurate and timely stats to the Programme Manager as required

  • A relevant qualification is desirable.
  • Prior experience conducting research and analysis in an academic environment would be useful.
  • Strong administration skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and a love for data.
  • Competent in interpreting data from the Power BI tool in preparation for reports and presentations.
  • Being busy brings out the best in you - it's all go.
  • An administrative background and project management experience would assist you being able to meet deadlines.
  • Confidence in te ao Māori and/or Pasifika world views an advantage.
