Graphic Packaging-Visalia manufactures and distributes paper cups and plastic lids for the food service industry and is currently recruiting for the following position.


JOB TITLE: 2nd Shift QAT

DEPARTMENT: Quality

WORK SCHEDULE: 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (Midnight)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Tester (QAT) is responsible for performing quality inspections on multiple cup lines. The QAT must follow all established testing procedures and guidelines and comply with all quality standards. QAT shall ensure quality product by not accepting defective material into work center, not making defective products at work station, not passing defects to internal customers and by reporting potential quality issues and entering quality information into computer database. The QAT will complete quality and safety audits, cycle counts on inventory and visually product. The QAT may be required to perform other necessary tasks throughout the plant including cleaning, general housekeeping duties, painting, sorting, cup-by-cup, lid-by-lid or tasks of a clerical nature. The QAT must maintain the cleanliness and organization of the entire work area and assist other employees as necessary.


All employees must follow all Graphic Packaging International work rules, code of conduct and safety procedures and policies including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, hearing protection and safety goggles.


WORK DEVICES/TOOLS consist of the following: pressure tester, computer, printer, coffeepot/apron/gloves, laser mike, broom/mop, air pressure hose, taper, China marker, strobe light


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time with scheduled breaks
  • Must be able to lift/carry approximately 30 lbs from floor to waist height.
  • Must be able to bend throughout the work shift. A majority of bending occurs in a slight forward bend for brief periods of times. This may be performed on a repetitive basis.
  • Must be able to reach between waist and shoulder height which occurs on a continuous basis.
  • Must be able to reach overhead and below waist level which occurs on an occasional basis.
  • Must have the ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime as required
  • Quality experience in manufacturing environment; 2 years preferred
  • Overtime will be required as necessary including weekends. Graphic Packaging International operates on a 24 hour, 7 day/week basis
