Position:
Janitor
Primary Location: North Vancouver, British Columbia
Shift: 5x8 Day shift - 5 days per week – Monday to Friday
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Compensation: $30.33/hr + benefits
The CAD hourly rate for this position is $30.33 + benefits. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. Please note that the compensation details listed in the US roles postings reflect the hourly rate only, and do not include benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives such as overtime and shift premiums.

About This Position and About You

Qualification
Knowledge
  • High-school certificate
  • Completion of a janitorial certificate training program preferred (BSW certificate)
  • Minimum 1 year related janitorial experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Competencies
  • Health and safety awareness and knowledge related to the position specifically and manufacturing environment in general
  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven ability to work without supervision.
  • Demonstrate initiative, responsibility, and flexibility.
  • Able to prioritize work according to plant and personnel requirements
  • Able to assess work environment hazards and decide how work may be approached to minimize risks
Responsibilities
  • Clean offices, including dusting, vacuuming carpets and cleaning windows.
  • Clean and re-stock coffee machines and clean any spillage.
  • Empty waste bins in offices and other areas
  • Clean washrooms and resupply areas with stock
  • Clean Damp mop linoleum and tiled floors
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Job Demands:

  • Physical ability to stoop, lift, stretch and stand as required for the performance of the job duties both indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be physically able to lift 50lb.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE.
  • No allergies or conditions that would be aggravated by the handling of cleaning products.
